In Tibet: Happiness in Simplicity

It was during 2011 when I went to Tibet. Was planning to write down my experiences, but of course, I failed to documented my journey, only managed to write down my trip in Beijing . I still have my tour guide’s email address though, feel free to ask if you need an introduction (although I don’t know how he has been doing these past two years).

Read it somewhere that a tourist doesn’t know the place they visited and a traveler doesn’t know the place they are going to. I thought I am a traveler of the world, well, I guess I’m just a tourist, who enjoys the experience of new culture, new place, new landscape regardless of the name.

Luckily, I did took pictures during this journey of a lifetime. I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

I guess monastery life is still ok. They are allowed to hear music, ....hm...or are they listening to the chanting prayers?

The journey to Mt. Everest is timed. If we go to fast, we need to make a stop. Stairway to Heaven during one of our stops.

China Mobile is available on the way to Mt. Everest. Tibet turns out not as old as I thought it was going to be. However, I decided to turn off my mobile for few days, watch no TV, brought no laptop, just enjoying the togetherness with my travel mates. Definitely a life changing experience for me. I’ve heard it for so many times, happiness comes from within. This is the time where I do believe that happiness comes from within. Looking at people praying while walking around the monastery all day, living a happy life with things that are so little for my standard, I guess, after all ……money is not everything.
